Let's shape the future of science journalism education.

The Science Journalism Educator Summit is an event dedicated to improving and shaping next generation science journalism education mainly in Canada, but increasingly, worldwide. With each summit, we aim to bring together science journalism educators, reporters, journalists and students to discuss how science journalism could be better reported and taught. The first SJE Summit took place from August 10-12, 2017 in Montreal.

In the ever-changing landscape of journalism, where and how does science fit in? What should next generation learning in science journalism studies encompass? These are key questions we want to tackle, through keynote talks, workshops and group discussions.

The SJE Summit events would not be possible without the help of our collaborators and attendees. We are affiliated with the Concordia Science Journalism Project, Projected Futures and Concordia University's Department of Journalism. Initiated by Journalism Chair Dr. David Secko, the SJE Summit aims to bring together more science journalists and educators every year, so we can continue to tackle these topics together. We have collaborated extensively with the World Federation of Science Journalists and Science Writers and Communicators of Canada, among others.
